Do you love Christmas? Do you love photography even more? Santa Edmonton is looking for the perfect person to be an elf-tographer and take pictures at holiday events this season.
Many of the corporate holiday parties where Santa Edmonton is visiting are also having him provide Santa’s Magic Photo Station where one of Santa’s elftographers (you!) takes pictures of the guests and Santa. Guests will take prints home and will also be able to receive their photos instantly by email, text, or QR code scan.
Most of the time you’ll be photographing guests with Santa, but it’s also possible for the photo station to be at an event without Santa. Most events are in the Edmonton Capitol region, but travel across Alberta might also be needed.
We have multiple teams of elftographers busy taking pictures with Santa Edmonton and other Santas as well.

Skills required:
- Must love Christmas!
- Interest in working in the photographic industry
- Working well with adults and kids
- Have a good understanding of camera settings, computers, and lighting
- Be proficient with current camera and computer tech
- Have decent data plan on your phone (200 mb is the maximum we’ve used at an event)
- Your own dependable vehicle to transport equipment
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Current clear RCMP Criminal Background Check
- Flexible schedule, able to work midday, evenings and weekends
- Be excited to dress up as an elf and appear in character
What you’ll do:
You’ll arrive about an hour before picture-taking begins to set up the camera, one monolight, computer, and printer. Sometimes Santa’s collapsible Santa chair and/or a background stand and background will also be set up by you.
The computer will connect to your phone’s wireless hotspot for a data connection. The software in the computer automates everything so when you take a picture, it is processed through the software and is printed automatically. The guests can also get a copy via email or sms.
While you’re taking pictures, the focus is on having fun with the kids and adults and getting great pictures!
You need to be able to think on your feet; as with any technology, sometimes (not often) something may go wrong. You’ll be able to troubleshoot with a smile to get pictures flowing again.
As far as the guests know, you are just a happy Santa’s elf-tographer who is skilled in getting great shots of everyone!
Full training on the setup and operation of the equipment will be provided.

This is a fun, fast-paced job where everyone is happy! As one of Santa’s elf-tographers, you will always have a smile and a kind word for everyone. Even if we have a technical challenge, the kids can’t see us sweat!
This is pure shooting; there is no scheduling, downloading, editing, selling, or other activities.
The season generally begins November 1st and runs through December 24th. The pay range is $20-$25/hr depending on experience.
